“Witnessing For Christ in a Hostile World” 1 Peter 3:13-17

God has called each one of us to be His living witnesses in this wicked world that is becoming increasingly hostile towards Christians. Our role is crucial, to let our lives be like salt to a decaying culture and light to a world that is in the dark about the truth about God. Therefore, our purpose is to live our lives in the light (obedience) of His Word, even if that means we must suffer some kind of ridicule or persecution for doing it, for all who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. When that persecution comes, the Bible says we are to be prepared; equipped to reveal the source of our faith, which is our submission to Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We must yield our lives unto His sovereign will and trust Him to use our witness to draw even our persecutors, as well as those who are watching us, to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Remember, God has a plan in all of this, and it is a plan of hope and encouragement. I am excited to introduce a new series of sermons on Apologetics on Sunday evening. The title of the first sermon is: In the Defense of Our Faith: Witnessing for Christ in a Hostile World.” Our text will be 1 Peter 3:13-17.
