Speaking of “The Day of the Lord,” in Zechariah 12:3, God said, “ And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” And, in Zechariah 12:9, God said, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” Hidden within the much-celebrated peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia, is the “bitter pill” of dividing the land of Israel between the Jews and the Arabs, and the current administration of the United States of America is DEMANDING it. Perhaps someone needs to remind them of Joel 3:2, where the Lord said: “I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.” Beloved, God has not abandoned His chosen people. We will see the reasons for that in tonight’s study: “ Israel, and the purposes of God,” or “What is so special about Israel?”

The purpose for this study is to learn why God chose the children of Israel to be His chosen people, and as such, why He has allowed them to be so mistreated by every other nation on earth.

Satan knows this, and he knows his future is tied to the return of Jesus, which tells us why he wants to destroy Israel and all those who support her.

Zechariah 13:8: “And it shall come to pass in all the land,” says the Lord, “That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one-third shall be left in it: I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’ and each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
