With this sermon, we begin a new series on the Seven Feasts of the Lord entitled, “God’s Appointed Pathway.” For over 1500 years, God had the Israelites to “act out” His plan of redemption each year, in the hope that it would point them to the One He would send to be their Savior. The four spring feasts focused on the first coming of the Messiah, as they described His death, His burial, and His resurrection, as well as the coming of the Holy Spirit. The three fall feasts focused on His second coming, as they described what He will accomplish in the future, including the rapture of the Church, His victory over sin and Satan and the inauguration of His kingdom on this earth for 1,0000 years, and in the New Heaven and New earth forever, world without end. We will explain this further in our next sermon, “The Seven Feasts of Israel” which is based on our study of Leviticus 23:1-44

From the beginning, God the Father not only desired to have a personal, intimate relationship with those He created, but He also took the initiative in developing that relationship by establishing seven annual “appointed times” for His people to stop their work and worship Him.
In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul said Christians are not “required” to celebrate the Jewish Feasts, for they were all fulfilled (or will be) in Jesus Christ!
The seven feasts are bound together by “the Sabbath” – which means to “cease work” or to “rest from one’s labor”!
