“The Introduction of the Antichrist” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17

In His first Epistle, the Apostle John said many antichrists had already gone out into the world. He identified them as “those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh.” In other words, anyone who denies the deity of Jesus Christ, or His oneness with God the Father is an antichrist.’ (1 John 4:3) However, there is one soon to come who will be a God-denying, Christ-denying, pseudo religious leader, who will rise to power as the Antichrist.  The Apostle Paul referred to him as the lawless one, for he will be the most destructive human to ever walk on this earth. Paul also referred to him as the son of perdition, for he will be the culmination of all the Satanic forces before him, including all the false prophets, all the false teachers, and false preachers who have claimed to be spokesmen from God, but who were, and who are, in fact, speaking for Satan, and today’s pulpits are full of them It is that man whom we want to expose in this sermon entitled, “The Introduction of the Antichrist.”

In 1 st John 2:18, the Apostle wrote , “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we kno w that it is the last hour.”

This soon-coming world leader has 33-different names in the Bible, not to identify him as a person but to illustrate his evil attributes and horrifying actions.

The Antichrist has been at work in the world since the day God promised Satan the Seed of Eve would destroy him.

The spirit of Antichrist is with us now. But in the last days, the Antichrist himself will take his position as the leader of the New World Order, and in less than three years, he will attempt to destroy the world. Finally, he will be cast into hell to experience death forever, world without end.

Paul’s second letter to the church at Thessalonica was divided into three chapters.

Whether we are alive or dead when that trumpet sounds, we will not miss the rapture of the Church . Every true, born-again believer in Christ, from the Day of Pentecost to the last day of the church-age, will be raptured from this earth to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Satan is the great deceiver, and he will use any and all means to achieve his goal.

Throughout the Scriptures, God urges His people to remain faithful to the truth of His Word so as not to be led astray.

While the days ahead will be filled with times of angst and anxiety, we should allow the truth of God’s Word to comfort our hearts and assure us of His presence and His power.
