“The Glorious Return of Christ” Mark 13:1-37

“….98, 99, 100 – Ready or not, here I come!” Wouldn’t you love to play “Hide and go seek” again? Today’s children don’t know how to have real fun!! However, Jesus says the same thing to us today, “Ready or not, here I come!” There are no more prophecies to be fulfilled. First, Jesus will come FOR us , in what is called the Rapture of the Church, to deliver us from the wrath of God that will be poured out on this earth during the Tribulation. Then He will come WITH us to rid the world of sin and remove those who rebelled against Him and His Son. Jesus is coming soon; are you ready? Each time we pray what is referred to as “The Lord’s Prayer,” we pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Now, we wait for His glorious return:

The central theme of the Bible is God’s divine plan to establish His kingdom upon this earth – a kingdom where God’s will and rule are carried out on this earth, as they are now being carried out in heaven .

The theme of the Kingdom of God can be traced from Genesis to Revelation, as God illustrated His plan to establish His kingdom upon this earth.

Beginning with the day Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River and ending with their final conversation with Him before He ascended, the disciples were constantly being told, “The Kingdom of God is at hand!”

After Jesus left the Temple where He had taught His disciples about the Kingdom of God, God Himself shut the door, not only on the Temple as a place for the Jews to worship Him, but on the Jewish system of worship. Matthew quoted Jesus as saying, “Your house is left unto you desolate.”

After making that prophetic declaration, Mark said Jesus and the disciples went to the Mount of Olives, and Peter, James, and John asked Jesus privately to tell them when all these things would occur.
