STUDY GUIDE
TRANSCRIPT
Date: August 30, 2026 Author: Wayne J. Edwards
God’s Story begins with His creation of all things and ends with His culmination of all things; He is the “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End!” It begins with God and a perfect world, and human beings created in His image, with free will to choose between good and evil, knowing the consequences of their choices. It ends with God having triumphed over evil, and with those who put their faith and trust in God living with Him forever in glory! It is called God’s plan for our redemption. If you are born again today, it is because God called you out from the world, redeemed you by the blood of His Son, and adopted you into His family, so you could live with Him forever and worship Him forever as living trophies of His love, His mercy and His grace. The title of Sunday night’s sermon is: “The Call of Moses,” a “type” of Christ. Everything Moses did to deliver the Israelites from their bondage as slaves in Egypt is an example of what the Lord Jesus did for us to deliver us from our bondage to sin. Join us on Sunday at 6:00 PM for the live stream and participate in the worship service. The sermon will also be available on our website: https://theheritagechurch.org The sermon will also be available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com@heritagebaptistchurchperry THANK YOU for sharing these study guides with your family members and friends. The whole Bible is God’s Spoken Word – it is God’s own revelation of Himself to man.
While the Bible is “one book” with “one story”, each book within the Bible stands alone in its purpose of God’s revelation, but each book connects with the other 65 books to develop and illustrate God’s plan for our redemption.
In Exodus 2:23-25, God said He had “heard the groaning” of His people; that He had “remembered His covenant” with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that He “looked” upon the children of Israel and “had respect” unto them.
To reduce the growth in the Hebrew population, Pharaoh had issued a decree that all male children be thrown into the Nile River. (Satan’s attempt to destroy the Seed)
In Acts 7:22, Stephen said, “ Moses was trained in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds!”
God led Moses to the backside of the desert, to a specific well owned by the Midianites, who were of the seed of Abraham, and who worshipped the One True God!
Working as a shepherd for his father-in-law, Moses led the sheep to a pasture at the base of the Mountain of God!
