While a Christian cannot be possessed by demons because those who have been bought by the shed blood of Jesus Christ belong to Him, when we agree with Satan’s lies, even a born-again believer can become oppressed by negative, if not evil, thoughts. If we allow those thoughts to dwell in our minds, Satan can build a stronghold against the truth of God’s Word. Tearing down those strongholds begins with our genuine repentance unto God for believing the lie and ends with forgiving those whom Satan used to attract us and trap us with the lie. In this sermon, I describe the seven strongholds that plague most Christians today. Remember, these strongholds came from “root sins” we failed to destroy through consistent study and obedience to God’s Word, and the daily confession of our sins. Join us live at 6:00 PM for the study: www.theheritagechurch.org The sermon will be available on our Website and on YouTube. God intends His children to live in victory over sin. God has made it possible for every believer to experience victory over the temptations of sin through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

However, if we, in effect, “nurse” our sins, justify them, rationalize them, or try to minimize them, Satan will use that act of disobedience to establish a “stronghold” in our souls.
