Cultural Christianity describes people who call themselves “Christians” because they grew up in a household of Christians, agree with the “good teachings” of Jesus, and enjoy the community of the church without being born again. In many ways, Cultural Christianity is more tragic than the flat-out rejection of Jesus and His Church—it is claiming association with Jesus without having “saving faith,” which is taking His name in vain. Sadly, today’s churches are filled with “cultural Christians” – those who have heard the gospel, perhaps again and again, but they have never believed what they have listened to and received Christ as their Savior and Lord. Cultural Christianity is the antithesis of saving faith. Cultural Christianity results in eternal condemnation while saving faith results in eternal salvation. This Sunday at 6:00 PM, we will continue our in-depth study of Paul’s letter to the Romans. In this sermon, Paul prosecutes “God’s Case Against Good People.” By sharing these sermon study guides with your family and friends, you’re spreading the gospel message and contributing to the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
