Linda and I share the heartbreak of many parents who, on Christmas morning, find their children more enamored by the bright bows and colorful boxes than the toys inside. Such is the case with many Christians today – they are more interested in the idea and feeling of Christmas than they are in Christ. Beloved, Christmas is not about the Savior’s Infancy! Christmas is about that infant’s Deity, and OUR CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT ANYTHING LESS OR ANYTHING ELSE.

Luke wrote his account of the life of Christ to convince the Greeks that Jesus was the Perfect Man – the Savior sent from God. Luke included the testimonies of:

Having been warned of Herod’s orders to slaughter all the male children under the age of two in and around Bethlehem, Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt.

Luke said three things about Jesus:

Nazareth was a small quiet town where life was not as hectic as it was in the larger cities.

All male Jews were required to attend the temple worship services three times each year – Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles, and their families were also invited.
