The word gospel means “good news.” While the word’s origin was in the pagan world, in the New Testament, the gospel refers to the fact that God took the initiative to do something about man’s sinful plight. John 3:16 is used as a simple definition of the gospel: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Because we all have sinned, we all deserve to be separated from God forever. But the GOOD NEWS is that God gave His Son to take our punishment. As a man, Jesus died for our sins. As God, Jesus died for the sins of all men. To prove His deity, Jesus rose from the grave, having conquered sin and death once and for all, and that’s GOOD NEWS!!! Sunday at 6:00 PM, we will continue our study of Paul’s letter to the Romans, “The Just Shall Live by Faith.” In this sermon, we want to look at the power of the gospel to radically transform the lives of those who believe it and receive it
