“A Place to Begin” Genesis 1:1

According to the most recent survey, only 6% of Americans have a biblical worldview. Stated another way, 94% of those who live in the most God-blessed nation on earth do not view “life” through the lens of Holy Scripture. In effect, they are secularists, and while that might include some form of worship of some kind of god, it is certainly not the true worship of the God of the Bible. To develop a biblical worldview, one must replace this cheap caricature of God the contemporary church has portrayed for the last 50-years with an accurate, biblical concept of God. That is where we will begin in this sermon series entitled, “Developing a Biblical Worldview.”

The “battle of the ages” is between the two worldviews as defined by God in His prophecy concerning the promise of the coming of the Messiah in Genesis 3:15:

Everyone has a worldview, a “grid” through which they view the world and everything in it. That “grid” is a system of beliefs we develop from our parents, our peers, and our pursuit of knowledge, from which we establish our values.

In the Hebrew, Genesis 1:1 reads: “ In beginning, God created!”
