It disturbs me to see so little interest in the subject of heaven, even among those who claim to be ready to live there forever. With the events of the world as they are today, it seems to me that every born-again believer would be anxious to know about this place where they will spend eternity. We have seen that interest from Christians in those nations where they are suffering persecution for their expressed faith in Christ, or where such expository preaching is not available, but not so much from the viewers in America. Christians in the West have allowed the temporal to distract them from the eternal, and I’m wondering to what extent God must go to bring us to correct our vision! Thank you for forwarding these sermon study guides to those you think might be interested. We have attached the order of service for those who are watching us live so you can prepare to read along with us, and sing along with us, as we worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. It is encouraging for the Heritage Family to learn how these sermons and sermon study guides have benefited your personal spiritual growth. I would love to hear from you, and I will return your email. wnledwards@gmail.com

The Unfolding Drama of Redemption # 9 “A New Heaven and a New Earth” Revelation 21:1-27

Wayne J. Edwards, Pastor

In Ephesians 1:10-12, the Apostle Paul said God’s ultimate goal in everything He has done since creation, and has planned for the future is “to gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth- in Him.”

“And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.” Zechariah 14:9

Jewish tradition says two events will signal the second coming of the Messiah:

Chapter 21 begins the final section of the Book of Revelation:

What did John mean by a New Heaven and New Earth?

“Behold the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people… and He will wipe every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will be no mourning, or crying, or pain.” Revelation 21:3-4

What was John’s final warning to his readers?

Now look at Revelation 22:20 – “Surely I come quickly, and John said, even so, come Lord Jesus.”
